Speaking and Teaching
I’m a seasoned public speaker and trained educator who loves to talk with writers, creatives, entrepreneurs, artists, and women and underrepresented groups working in tech about finding success in their projects and careers.
I have served as an adjunct professor for first year writing at CUNY Queens College and New School/Eugene Lang College in New York City. For the Author’s Guild, the Center for Fiction, and The Resort LIC I have led workshops and talks about putting together a book promotion plan and preparing to promote your book. At SxSW I have spoken to entrepreneurs about technology’s impact on the handmade economy, filmmakers about fundraising and building a supportive audience for their work; and musicians about crowdfunding and non-traditional strategies to support their career. At the Craftcation Conference I talked with handmade business owners about setting actionable goals in order build successful businesses. I’ve traveled nationally lead workshops artists and creative entrepreneurs in the art of branding, marketing, and fundraising at institutions that range from the The Walker Art Center, the Philbrook Museum of Art, the Kansas City Art Institute, ArtServe Michigan in Detroit, and the MacDowell Colony residency. For nearly a decade I was an educator, public programmer, and artist’s workshop organizer at the Brooklyn Museum, the Rubin Museum of Art, and the New York Foundation for the Arts.
